Sharing great road cycling routes for Black Mountain, NC

Not all roads in WNC are open to to motorists — Point Lookout Trail (or Old 70 if you have lived in WNC for more than 5 years) is a great example.  Prior to opening in late 2008, this paved biking/walking path was US Highway 70 and it connected Old Fort to Black Mountain.  The trail is 3.6 miles long and is surrounded by Pisgah National Forest.  Look for this trail in many of the cycling routes mentioned in my blog.  I am sure you will enjoy taking this beautiful, scenic ride.
