Want to Ride But Don’t Know The Area?
We might already have routes you can use… and if we don’t, we can make them!
We create Epic Cycling Routes and Custom Tours that you can download to your phone (or compatible bike computer). Look over the route long before you hop in the car, or jump on the plane. Get a feel for what you’ll be riding the awesome bragging rights your next adventure will bring.
Our Epic Cycling Routes include recommended routes, alternatives, and points-of-interest embedded in the route. Everything you need, except of course for your bicycle and your legs.
We know that you are busy doctoring, lawyering, parenting, plumbing, teaching, caregiving, programming, selling, accounting… doing your thing and living your life. Your time on the bicycle is precious and far too short.
Let us take the work out of planning your next epic cycling trip. We’ll talk about what you want, what you hope for, and where your limits are. With that information, we’ll put together an Epic Cycling Route for you. And you can share it with your friends.
How We Do This
First of all, we’ve been designing bike routes since the days of dog-eared paper “cue sheets” — adventuring in remote and rural environments with turn by turn directions. Or a gas station map (French Michelin map in 2003 ) or even a book (New Zealand 32 years ago). We know the power of a good map, and a route designed by someone who rides.
With tens of thousands of miles of riding experience, we bring an excruciating attention to detail borne from our professional lives of financial accounting and computer science. And we use the amazing tools available to us today — starting with RideWithGPS and their excellent platform for designing routes. We also use on-the-ground experience, satellite imagery, and topo maps.
All of this is with an eye of the experienced rider, not only looking for the next climb but also the perfect point for an awesome photo and the stop for a delicious espresso.
It helps that we’ve been guiding clients on custom bicycle tours for years, have run over 20 large group cycling events, and run training programs for small groups of cyclists. We have endured the consequence of a route mistake, and the joy of an awesome route that’s “just right” for the riders.
